On our previous trailer, a 29' FR Surveyour, it had a long single plastic slide that was as long as the pass thru was wide. It was accessible from either side. I absolutely loved it because everything in it was easily to get to. It did waste some space as it was shaped like a hopper, wider at the top than the bottom.
On our trailer both doors are the same size so the same type slide could be used and I considered building one but the cost of a light weight one wasn't worth it to me. What I ended up with was using plastic storage bins. On the curb side I store the stuff used on that side. So things for cooking, stuff for the campfire, etc. The roadside bins hold the stuff used on that side like a bin for water hoses, filter, regulator, and a bin for electric cords, adapters, etc. Over the years this has worked well and it's reasonably organized.
