Howdy!

Hello! Our family will begin travels with a 2016 Keystone Sprinter 326FWBHS. We are very excited about this camper and so far my 2004 f250 7.3 isn’t hurting to pull it. (It’s flat where we are). Anywho, glad to be here!

From Utah! Glad to see another camper holding on to their vintage tow vehicle. Good folks here with lots of experience willing to help with any questions.

Welcome to the rv lifestyle! Enjoy!
Just for safeties sake you need to look at the payload for your truck.
That rv will have a pin weight of 3000-3200+ lbs (average 20-25% of the GVWR), most 3/4 ton diesel trucks don't have that kind of payload, especially older models.
Yes! That truck is more than capable of "moving/towing" that rv all day long without breaking a sweat, but is it able to safely "carry" the weight of the rv pin weight + 100-200+lbs for the hitch + the weight of everything/everyone in/on that truck, which all comes off the available payload.
Not trying to dampen your enthusiasm, just be sure rving is safe for you & your family!

I did a lot of looking before we bought the camper. I had the truck for work and did lots of work on it to bring it back to glory days. The camper pin is around 2k for this particular model per manufacture specs and that put it in the green zone for the truck. It’s on the line for sure, and we are actively looking for a bigger one in the very near future. I appreciate the warning and it is being headed/heeded/taken headend of

Sir, A bit of clarification. Your 39' fifth wheel has a gross weight of 14,000 lbs. The pin weight from the manufacturer is for a fully unloaded trailer with no fluids in the tanks, no batteries and no propane, etc. One loaded, you can be at 14K lbs in a jiffy. The normal way to estimate pin weight is to take 23 percent of the gross trailer weight which is 3220 lbs then add 100-300 for the hitch (depending on which hitch is used), the weight of stuff in your truck and the weight of the passengers. Your actual pin weight will be close or over 4000 lbs.

You older 3/4 ton diesel will will not have near that payload capability. Look at the yellow/white placard in the door frame and see what your payload actually is. I have a 2006 F3350 and my payload is right at 4000 lbs and I would not feel good about pulling your trailer due to payload limitations. You are close to one ton dually range.

This is a payload placard... what does your's say? These points were mentioned in the interest of safety and you are welcome to listen or ignore as it is your trailer and family.

Welcome to the forums and congrats on getting your new Sprinter. I hope you have good success and lots of happy camping in your future.

Just an FYI, I looked up the stats on that Sprinter. The "dry" (out the door at the factory) hitch weight is 2125 lbs. I have no clue about your Ford F250. I'm a Chevy guy!
