Aussie Grill Help/Replacement?

I have been out twice now this spring/summer with the new 26RBPR. We love it, but there is one inconvenience. It has an outdoor kitchen and BBQ. It came with a gas grill called an Aussie grill. It looks nice BUT it hardly gets hot.

By that I mean it will cook food, but very slowly. Is this a byproduct of using a quick connect into the RV gas supply? Is that system of a lower pressure than what I am used to in a BBQ grill or is the Aussie grill somehow deficient?

Does anyone else experience this? If you have did you replace the Aussie and with what brand and what results?
Or is there something I can do to increase the BTU output of the Aussie?

I could always build a platform for the grill mount and put a regular charcoal grill there, and will if that's the answer but was hoping before our next outing in a couple of weeks that some on this list might have a suggestion/solution.

Thanks
Oak

Our Aussie grill gets plenty hot. It's designed to work behind your regulator (low pressure). I've had a couple of folks that see us using ours and wanted to know how we got it to work, Seems many are shipped as a kit that includes another regulator. If you use the second regulator it cuts the pressure way too low. The included regulator is so you can also use the the 1# Coleman propane tanks. Don't know if this is your issue but we've run into it twice now with different folks.

Thanks Canonman, I will check when I get home this PM. Maybe that's it.

Dan, did you have to modify the Nexgrill to work on the pressure from the TT?

Well Dan, that's graphic, even I can understand.

Our Bullet also came with the Aussie Grill. It would burn everything in the middle, and anything toward the outside would be raw. It made us good at shuffling the food around the grill every 2 minutes. One season with it was all I could take and bought the baby Weber (Q 1200). I removed the regulator from the Weber and adapted it to the quick connect I took off the Aussie before I threw it in the scrap metal bin. I did have to modify the Aussie bracket to mount the Weber. Honestly, today we use our small Blackstone griddle much more than the Weber, but I have yet to make that one low pressure compatible.

Bought a Nexgril at Costco in Jan of 12. Still works great. Plenty of even heat. IIRC it was $109.

The Forum neither advocates nor endorses blowing out an Aussie grill with a fart. Regardless of how weak the flame may be, farts are flammable and lighting one off may cause personal injury or other untoward catastrophic failures. Fart at your own risk.

Check out propanegear.com
I bought an adapter and quick connect hose combo from them and it works perfect with my 22" Blackstone.
