At a tow limit of 7,900 w/tow package(which seems high for this model)and the trailer 4,800,i dont know what the trailer weighs as it sits loaded and gas and the dirtbike and the wife and me im sure im close to my tow limit.i will say that it seems to tow this trailer pretty good,maybe the sway bar on the truck and the Weight Distribution/sway control help.

With my Tundra the towing capacity was 9600 lb but if I had 15% of my 7500 lb trailer, plus 2 bicycles, the DW and me and a tank of gas....we exceeded payload...easily. I couldn't figure out how my truck could even tow 9600 lb and be under payload limits.

2WD? Go to a local driveline shop and inquire about changing the gears. Get limited slip while you're doing it.

Already have limited slip. Quotes were in $4K range for gear change. Most just say buy a new truck. Either way it's a hard bill to face. Thanks.

Tbos, Howdy;

You are a victim of being close to D.C.,
Summit Racing carries the rear-ends,
http://www.summitracing.com/search/b...eyword=Detroit
pick out the one that fits your needs buy it, and then find a reasonable
mechanic to do the swap for you, or do it your self...

hankaye

PS. disclaimer, I don't have anything to do with Summit except as a customer.
