Front jacks will not retract

We bought a new 2023 Cougar Sport. The front retract will trip the resettable circuit breaker. It always extends, but will trip when the retract button is pushed. Sometimes it will retract, but half the time it will not. The other day it would trip even with the fifth wheel connected and the feet not all the way on the ground.

If you have the Lippert “Level up”, that is a known issue. Look for the circuit breaker for the pump. Lippert recommends an 80A resettable breaker.

Using proper gauge wire, go direct from the battery to the breaker and then to the pump solenoid.

I thought the Sport used the electric front jacks and rear stabilizers? There are no hydraulics or 4-point automatic leveling system that I am aware of.

The front jacks have a single electric motor. It is not hydraulic

If you have a single motor with a gearbox and crossover tube, I would be looking at the motor. Make sure all the connections are solid, and if you can, measure the amp draw. I’m leaning towards a bad motor.

2023 unit? ….yeah i’d take it to the dealer and show them what it does…they may let you take it home and order the parts and do a one day swap out when parts arrive.I do most repairs myself but leveling systems can be an expensive repair and it’s under warranty

We had to replace the 12V circuit breaker on ours, after that no issues. BTW that was a warranty item.
