Has anyone used or had any experience in relation to the Carlisle Trailer tires? Thanks.

There's 100s of threads on here recommending them & I'd also recommend them.
The other go to brands are Sailun, Maxxis, & GY Endurance, although the GYs are considerably more expensive than all the rest.

Below are a few reviews on Carlisle trailer tires. I would look at the tire specs, espeacially loading (ply) and confirm you have adequate safety margin. Plus they should be ST tires which are designed specifically for use on trailer axle positions only https://rvingwithmarkpolk.com/2016/0...-does-st-mean/.

You obviously haven't explored the search function yet on this forum. Tire brands have been discussed more times that I can count using my finders and toes and yours combined. They are a very popular brand with good reviews.

Ya, I used the "search" function for Carlisle. Maybe just not familiar enough with it yet to have done it correctly?? who knows. Anyway, I do appreciate all the help!!

I recommend them. Bought them a few times over the years. Replaced the brand new Trailer Kings on our camper almost right away with Carlisle Radial Trail HD.

I swapped Trailer Kings for Carlisle Radial Trail HD on the last trailer after a blowout and never had another issue. By virtually all accounts they are a good and respected trailer tire. Discount tire shows them 112-115 ea. and the GY Endurance is 136 plus 2.50 disposal fee.

Your trailer is 7200gvw. The Carlisle Radial Trail HD in your trailer size, 205/75R 14 with a load range D (which is what it indicates is the OE load range) will support 2040 lbs. That pressure with a good tire should be sufficient for that trailer...just keep the tires at 65psi.

I had Carlisle tires on my last 2 travel trailers (31 foot Keystone Springdale and next a 35 foot Keystone Outback). I never had an ounce of problems with those tires.

re: using the search function. I'm on a few different forums for different interests. People saying "use the search function" is practically a meme these days.

The reality is that the search function doesn't usually help that much as it returns so many things that take so much time to read through to maybe find what you're looking for.

I just searched for Carlisle Tires on this forum - there were 20 pages of threads and 20 pages of posts.

With a Passport, you will have 14" or 15" rims. The only trailer tires I buy are Carlisle Radial HD Trail (mine are 15"). Reason is that they are every bit as good as Goodyear Endurance and substantially less expensive. I buy mine at Walmart online and have them shipped to my home. I then take the 5th wheel to a tire shop and have them mount the new tires. Maxsis used to be one of the main recommended brands but is no longer that much on the market. Someone mentioned Sailun tires and they are fine BUT don't make 14/15" tires near as I can tell.

We can debate the search function but it is almost identical to all other forums' search functions as the software is the same. Same folks own most all the RV sites.

Ditto! One of the Trailer King tires on my Cougar blew out after only 75 miles......

I just did a "forum search" (using the Search tab in the top black bar) for two terms, "Carlisle" and "Trailer King". Both returned 500 hits, the limit I have set in my "search engine settings".

https://www.keystoneforums.com/forum...rchid=15010256

https://www.keystoneforums.com/forum...rchid=15010261

While there is some "duplication" and some "search for one of two words" in the "Trailer King" search, there are around 1,000 returns on this forum's search engine.

If you searched for those terms and didn't get any returns, I'd have to ask "How did you use the search feature?" because there's a significant disparity in results obtained....

Now, as for TK tires, THEY ARE CHINA BOMBS and should be used only with great caution and good insurance (to repair the damages they do). I've been using Carlisle ST tires exclusively since 2010 on all my trailers, flatbed, boat, RV, motorcycle trailer and dump trailer.

Prior to 2010 I had 4 of 4 TK tires with tread separation and potential to explode when towing. The tread separation could not be seen with the tires mounted on wheels, it was only visible when the tires were removed from the wheels and the inner carcass surface was visible for inspection. They were a "ticking time bomb waiting to explode"....

I would not use TK tires on anything I own.

Starting with Carlisle Radial Trail RH in 2010 and now using Carlisle Radial Trail HD (the updated version of the RH), I've not had any "tire problems" on any of my trailers. Goodyear Endurance ST tires appear to have a similar "good performance record", but at around $200 more per set of four, I'm "frugal enough" (cheap) to choose Carlisle Radial Trail HD as my "go to tire for trailer applications".

First off, thank you very very much for the tire experience. Thats what I was after. I appreciate all the feedback, its been fantastic.

Now to hopefully clear up the "search" issue, what I id was I only searched the "threads" which brought me up nothing under Carlisle. Once i changed to search to "posts" that brought up tons of stuff yes, so therefore, that was my issue which is now rectified. I just made the fatal error of not hitting the right radio button. Sorry about that guys.

Max, would like to point out that Walmart prices are the best. You will have to get them mounted elsewhere. Appears you have 14" rims. Don't believe you will find this tire in a load range E (10 ply). They do come in load range D (8 ply)

I bought my Carlisle 8plys at a Pete's Tire Barn near me and they had almost the same price as Walmart and included mounting with it. I took the wheels off myself and brought them in which they preferred to having me drive my trailer in.

It is possible to get a deal from a local but I suspect it wouldn't be worth the drive the Pete's Tire Barn to save a few bucks if you have to drive over 2000 miles.

Shopping local businesses is always my preference, as long as I can get the same or very close to the same pricing and services. Around here, there's only "national tire centers" and no locally owned tire shops. The last one closed about a year ago, due to COVID impacting their business, so for me, shopping local isn't an option.

WalMart will change out trailer tires if you bring the wheels into the service center. The way it was explained to me by the service manager at our local WalMart is that their insurance doesn't allow them to work on vehicles outside the building (in the parking lot) and honestly, in the winter in northern Michigan, who would want them to even try that??? Anyway, they won't work on a trailer in the parking lot and their bays aren't big enough to tow a trailer into the shop. So, bring in the wheels, they'll be glad to swap tires for you. I do it that way so I can get the road hazard warranty on my trailer tires so should I have a problem in "podunk, nowhere" I'll have WalMart to fall back on. Hopefully there'll be a WalMart nearby that can order me a replacement tire and install it on my wheel "free of charge"....

Competitive Pricing

As far as the national chains go... I recently needed to replace the tires on my daughter's GMC Terrain. I knew what tires I wanted from previous experience. The lowest cost I could find them was at Amazon. I used that link on the Discount Tire website and they honored the price, had them in the right size at the local store and I had them put on in a day.
