LED TV Power

We just bought a 2018 Hideout 28BHSWE which came with a 50" flat screen LED TV, I asked the dealer about being able to run the tv off the batteries (2 6V's) using an inverter and was told no problem, check wattage the tv draws and decide from there how big an inverter you need. TV draws 135 Watts, I bought a 450 watt inverter, one that plugs into the cigarette type power plug behind the tv. My problem is we wanted to watch a DVD our first time out, not plugged in, the tv powered on, the name of the manufacturer flashed on the screen and that was it. No picture no sound, couldn't even pull up the menu with the remote, I tried it again when we came home, because we had a signal now, I had sound but no picture. Am I missing something or is this even a possibility? Any advice would be appreciated. Sorry for being long winded.
