The RDS gravity feed aux tank is in the 4th truck. On the road I don't always unhook on overnight stops and can get 2 days travel before needing fuel. My last trip I filled at T/A as with the EFS card it was $o.48 less than locally. The 64 gallon was a $30 savings. A long bed with a 48 gallon tank helps the not need a huge aux.

My extra tank is plumbed direct also ...

I also move the aux tank to next ride.

It gives me close to 100 gal total witch helps hauling

1500 miles to az, do have to fill twice on the trip..

My fittings are on the small side because when running all day

the main will get down a little but in the mornin when I go looks somebody came

and fill me up last nite!!!! love IT

My 37 gal RDS tank is in my third truck. It came with the first truck so no initial outlay. It gives me enough to get from "not too cheap" NY state through the high tax states and I can fill up in VA where Liberty always has the best price. From there it's clear sailin' as the southern states know how to price fuel.

This is an interesting website, updated daily, telling fuel prices by state. I might add there's a world of good highway info also.

45 gal below the rail tank

ATTA makes a 45 gal below the rail tank . Their tanks are leagal in all states. Gravity feed tanks are not you must have a shut off valve in the line and it must be closed when going down the road.ATTA tanks come with transfer pumps.I have had one in my truck for 6 years now and it is by far the best mod. I made. Just Google ATTA tanks

As far as they tell it they are correct, however they only tell part of the story.
It is indeed illegal to gravity feed directly to the carburetor or injectors. However, gravity flowing into the OEM tank is legal as long as the auxiliary tank has a vent protected by a roll over valve.

Sorry, but the above data is INCORRECT. The statement "Gravity feed tanks must have a shut off valve in the line and it must be closed when going down the road" is advertising BS taken from the ATTA website and intended to scare people into buying their tanks. The fact is that other manufacturers (such as RDS) have tens-of-thousands of legal gravity feed auxiliary diesel fuel tanks in service all over the US. Just because you can find it on a website does not mean it is factual. Do you really want to do business with a company that will purposely mislead you right up front? Do your research and decide based on facts. JMHO

Brad, I just cannot believe you would come on a legitimate forum and spread the rumor that all one reads on the internet isn't true. It's spoil-sports like you that ruin factual sites like Facebook and Twitter.

Now you know that's only true if you add an extra leaf to the rear springs and install Bilstein shocks and make it a 350/3500 truck!
