Hitch and ball

Just purchased a 2011 FR Ultra Lite model 2608SS and need to get a weight distribution hitch, any suggestions and rating.and what size ball does it require? Any help would be appreciated. Pulling with a 2000 Ford Excursion with no lift kit.

You will need a 2 5/16" ball no matter what hitch you get. Not enough info to determine what hitch you need.

I'm going to step on out here and recommend an Equalizer four-point hitch with 800 pound bars. Yes, price is a little high, but performance makes it worth it, especially with a 25 year old vehicle. Keep in mind that your load capacity is slightly less than 2000 pounds on your old Excursion, so with the hitch weight and tongue weight taking almost half that you have to be careful on how you load your vehicle.
You will come on many recommendations from dealers and friends concerning your hitch brand, but avoid the usual cheap models and remember that sway control is your first priority.
