The right hitch for you depends on your circumstances/situation. I use my truck for a lot more than towing my 5th wheel. I don’t want to use a hoist to take the hitch in and out, I don’t want to need back surgery from listing it, and I don’t want it taking up a lot of space in my garage when not in use. If you don’t use the bed of your truck for other stuff, if you have a hoist and storage space isn’t an issue, then what hitch you get doesn’t really matter.

I use the Anderson ultimate 5th wheel hitch
Weighs less than 45 lbs has a GTW of 24,000 and max pin weight of 4000 I think , maybe a little more not sure
Easy to install and remove and you can get em for any bed length truck

Just a note about getting the "picture frame adapter" to fit in the factory pucks. When I went from a 2015 F250 to a 2019 F350 I had to use the picture frame adapter plus the extra high PullRite feet to get the FW high enough over the truck sides and tailgate. What surprised me is the trailer still looks level when hitched. Go figure

That’s surprising, every one I’ve seen, the RV is nose high and the hitch head is as low as you can put it. When you compare the picture frame to rails, rails sit up about an inch above the bed of the truck, the picture frame is probably in the neighborhood of 4”. I guess you can get the trailer level by adjusting the pin box, it’s just more hassle. For most people once you get it all set up its probably not an issue. I tend to move many different trailers helping people out, so having something that fits the typical 5th wheel without adjustment is more important for me.

^^^This X2. Everyone has their preferred hitch. I had a 5/20 Curt. I had several failure to hitch episodes. At least half were my fault. But, on an off camber campsite that slopes front to back, it can be a bit difficult to hitch. At least for me. I changed trucks 3 times and now have a collection of gooseneck to rails, just rails, etc in my "junkyard". I went to a PullLite 2600 single point (gooseneck ball). I like it. I occasionally need an empty bed and the hitch can be removed by this old man with 3 back surgeries.
But, if I had it to do all over again I would go to a Reese Goose Box. Unfortunately our 5th is too heavy for it. But there is a relatively newer hitch that has a heavy rating. A Gen-Y. Not sure about the Lippert frame warranty though.
If you do go to a conventional hitch I would get one with an airbag, or change the pinbox to something like a 5th Airborne.

Just adding my two cents here, i have the B&W companion 3600 for my ram, which i think is 25k and fits the puck system. I like the hitch a lot, it comes out in two pieces, and for now i can do it myself. I figured you never know i might have a dually some day and why buy the hitch twice. its quiet, great hitch, nothing but compliments on it.

We’ve dealt with the Reese goose box before. We contacted Lippert and they confirmed it does not void the frame warranty. It’s a good option if you have a gooseneck and want to completely eliminate an add in hitch, but it’s not cheap!

25k 5th Wheel

In my 3500 DRW Duramax I have a B&W 25k Companion Great Hitch.
Its al kind of over kill with me towing a 1/2 Towable Laredo but piece of mind is great.

Didn’t like the aluminum ball for one, although I never had an issue Didn’t care for the cable lock. The part that really bothered me is the foot print for storage. The Pullrite 2600 has a steel ball, spring loaded lock, and removable bed savers which makes the space required for storing about half of the Andersen. I can actually put it in my pass through if I want
