Well the Garmin is cool, I found the traffic thing useless and irritating. Kept sending me off on the access road.
Finally turned it off.

Garmin 890 will suit your needs better. It is what I have and very dependable. Include you rig numbers and you are good to go.

We are not particularly enamored with the traffic on the GPS either. It either is wrong or significantly delayed so as to not be useful.

What we do to counter that is use Waze just to keep an eye on traffic, but not for directions (heaven forbid while towing!) This typically gives us enough warning that the copilot (either the DW or myself, accordingly) can look at the paper map and plot an avoidance/exit strategy.

Personally, I like the TST 507 and have used it for years now. I've started using my phone as a GPS, it talks me through everything.

I use the eez tire tpms It’s great. But I’m sure they all do about the same. The 780 is nice I’ve been looking at that and the 785. What’s nice is the bc 30 backup/observation camera works with the 780. And bc35 works with the 785. I use Truck Map app right now because of height restrictions. I need something better because it freezes up at critical times( especially at critical exits) I went to the finger lakes in upstate New York and truck map added about 1.5 hours to route.

As with any GPS don't use it as a sole source for navigation and certainly don't trust your life to it. I have paper maps, the truck and/or Garmin RV units and the phone apps to help.

Note with the Garmin, put in the vehicle parameters and do pay attention to them. Couple of years ago we were heading home from Meridian MS and I knew which way I wanted to go but the Garmin wouldn't take my route. I did it anyway and figured it would "get with the program" as I proceeded. Never seemed to accept my routing and as we were in Greenville AL there was an underpass in town of 10' 6", well under my motorhome height of 12'6" and the 14' I had used as parameters. Fortunately I saw the sign a block away and had room to turn around. Use all the tools available.
