I love anything that moves. When I got my pilot's license I felt like I came "full circle" with the exception of running a train. I've bought new and used. I guess I'm more pragmatic in my purchases as the driving decision was to fit the need. Yes we have bought "above just need" as the comfort and convenience is nice to. We bought our King Ranch at the end of the modem year. Huge price cut worked for me.

To each his own. I guess my urge for "the latest and greatest" was satisfied by the jet boats, hot rods and other toys over the years.

Yes the price of new trucks is crazy!

I sold my 3 year old MH April of 2018. Lost a chunk of $$ on it.

We knew we would be going to a 5th wheel so went shopping for
trucks. May of 2018 I found my new to me truck, a 2012 Dodge
Ram Larime 3500 4x4, 4 door diesel 6 foot bed. 46,000 miles.

For a 2012 it had low mileage, no DEF fluid to deal with and fit my
budget.

I have a decent retirement, but not enough for a $90 - 100K truck.

October of 2018 went went shopping for our 5th wheel trailer.
I live in Colorado and the dealers in Co, UT and NM all had the unit
we wanted @ $50K plus.

I started looking on line and found our unit at CW in South Dakota
got it for a fair price I thought of $36K. For my wife and I it was
worth a days drive to save some $$.

Same thing we did. Nothing local so I found what I wanted 8 hours in one direction and 6 in the other. Negotiated on the phone and did the six hour drive to save a few ducats.
