Performance Chips Ford 6.2 liter engine

I’m looking for comments on add on chips for mileage and horse power. Has anyone tried them and what were the results? I have a 2016 F250 with a 6.2 liter engine.

I purchased a custom tune that “reprograms” the ECM. I added a cold air intake at the same time. It made a big difference. It cleaned up the shift points when shifting up and down. Also helped the “tow haul” settings as well. Really helped especially when towing our little Subaru behind it. Without getting into all the technical stuff, it changes the air / fuel table to help the engine perform better. My mileage actually improved.

This was done for our 6.8 v10 in a 2015 Class A. I know that is different than what you have but I would expect similar results.

I have a Banks Power Automind 2. On my gas Mustang it added a noticeable amount of throttle response and torque. On my 6.7 powerstroke diesel I noticed a slight improvement in fuel milage. The 6.7 has so much power that I don’t think I ever get close to using it all, even towing up steep hills is not challenge for that motor. I found mine used on facebook marketplace for $125. Couple of things you need to know if you go this route. It only works on 1 vehicle at a time. If you tune a car the tuner it will lock and not tune another until it is plugged back into the tuned car and unlocked by putting the factory tune back in, it then becomes unlocked and can tune a different car. Quirky but if you only have 1 vehicle to tune it’s no problem. If you buy used, Make sure you plug the unit into YOUR car when you buy it, it will show if it’s locked to another car. If it’s locked to another car the unit is worthless until it’s unlocked from the car it was locked from. The unit will tune the engine and transmission parameters if you have a compatible tranny. The Ford version of the Automind 2 works on every Ford, gas or diesel. It has several modes of tune, for my truck it has , performance, economy, tow and factory. Apparently Ford has done its homework as in Tow mode it does not change any diesel engine parameters, only transmission programming.
