Mold/Mildew stains on roof

Hi All,

Looking for suggestions to clean stains on roof material. I tried Krud Kutter House Wash applied by hose, lightly scrubbed with carwash soft bristles, left to sit 5 min's per directions, then liberally hosed. It definitely looks better, but not great.

I don't want to get too aggressive, as the roof is in good shape other than the unsightly stains around the edges. Would a light coat of white paint work? I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks, and Good luck,

You have done all you can do to remove the stains. Stains are just that ... "stains". Stains don't go away. They may look bad, but they don't hurt anything. Attempting to get the roof looking glowing white again will cause more damage to the rubber membrane than the stain ever will.

You do not need to remove them. Leave them. A simple wash with RV rubber roof cleaner, or Dawn dishwashing liquid solution, or Spic-n-span is all you need to do.

After cleaning, yes .... apply Rubbrer Roof Conditioner. That is all you need to do. Pour a small bit of Rubber Roof Conditioner on a small area and then spread it with a squeegee. Let it dry .... stains and all. More will damage more. You don't want that. Let it go. No one can see up there anyway.

DO NOT USE WHITE PAINT! A roof conditioner designed for the type roof you have is ok.
