Rafters

I want to mount some solar panels on our 2009 Prowler 230RKS and don’t know whether the rafters are wood or aluminum. Any one help me?

Best way to confirm this by removing a roof vent trim ring and take a look.

This is what it states under body structure.

Typically if a trailer is listed as an ultra light, lightweight or something along those lines, they’re aluminum. If not, wood is normal. Most high end trailers will use wood because it’s a natural insulator (at least that’s what they pitch). Sometimes a stud finder will work if they’re wood. As mentioned, only way to know for sure is to get eyes on.

Five sided = four walls and a floor.

Go into the bathroom and remove the four screws holding the trim ring on the ceiling vent. You'll be able to easily see and confirm the presence of wood.

When the factory installs solar panels I don't think they particularly aim for the roof trusses.
