Avalanche Gravity Water Fill

We have a Avalanche 321RS and I was wondering if I can do a gravity water fill through the overflow while boondocking?

Has anyone tried this?
Thx in advance

we're on the road traveling and I thought I'd ask the question before going down buying another hose, cutting it off

What about a 12V pump and use the city water fill.

Thanks for replying!
a 12V pump would work also. We're going to be camping in some provincial parks on the trip, and since we've never camped there before just wasn't sure how I might get extra water into the rig. Should we run out.
Since we're in route I can probably find a 12V pump at some RV dealer.

There is a way to do it with your on board pump as well. I don’t remember everything since i still have gravity fill on mine, but I think it was the following:
1. put a hose into a container of water and connect to winterize port
2. switch to winterize
3. connect your outside faucet to the water fill port (city water)
4. turn on the pump
5. Open the outside faucet.

You’re basically drawing the water in through the winterize port, out through the outside faucet, back into the fresh tank.

Any RV pump would do. Depending on where you draw the 12V from you can make a long set of jumper wires.

This is what I use when dry camping to add water from our 40 gallon bladder. I added a trailer plug to the cord instead of the alligator clamps so I can just plug it into the trailer receptacle. This will work with the older rigs with gravity fills and also the newer ones without the gravity fills, using the city water connection. https://www.harborfreight.com/12v-dc...gph-63324.html
