Thermostats losing set point after power outage
I have a 2020 Keystone Montana that I leave at the river for the summer and leave the thermostats set at 80 degrees when we return home. Every time we return the thermostats will be off because of a power interruption while we were gone. Shouldn’t the thermostats retain memory like your thermostat at home? The thermostats are Airxcel.

The guy your not aware of that is using your trailer when your home probably forgets and shuts it off..
No seriously welcome to the forum and I believe it should be a 12 volt thermostat and not get disconnected at all unless for some reason when power goes out there is a hiccup in 12 volt power when the converter gets de energized. Someone should have the answer

First concern would be why is there a power interruption EVERY TIME you leave? The controls/T'Stat I believe are 12 vdc So if the the shore power drops out for a few days then the battery will drain until it no longer can maintain the memory. If this is the case, then when you return and the power has been restored the converter supplies the 12 vdc and your battery is likely damaged and needs to be replaced.

I have been at the river when the power to the whole area would go off for a few minutes and the display on the thermostats would be blank until power returned and then the display would show OFF. I don’t know if Keystone possibly didn’t wire up the thermostats correctly.

Sounds like your batteries are bad..they should be powering the rv when the converter isn’t on…is your battery disconnect off?

My new Keystone only came with one battery but when I pushed the battery test button on my control panel, it showed it fully charged.

If the battery is connected and the shore cable plugged in then it will show the voltage of the converter charging the battery and not the level of battery charge. That "level" led indicator is very rudimentary at best. If you want to use that to check the battery status then unplug the camper from the truck and shore power for a least 30 min. before you check it.

Thank you for that info. I will check that when we return to the river this Thursday. I don’t know if the dealer may have flipped the disconnect when working on the rv lift when the cable broke last year but I definitely will check it .
