Hydraulic Slide Issue

I have a 2005 Montana Mountaineer 329RLS with 3 hydraulic slides. I have a problem when moving the slides in. There is only one switch for all three slides. The order of slide movement is : Bedroom, Refrig/stove, couch/dining table. The bedroom slide works great, but the other two super slides have a difficult time coming in. All three slides slide out with no problem. When the two slides pause/stop on the way in, I can change the slide switch to the "out" position for only a second, then resume the slide in. I have to do this three or four times on each of the two slides. I can also wait 5 seconds or so on the switch and resume the slide in and it works the same as the above remedy (most of the time). I have replaced the switch and cleaned and oiled the slide rails. The hydraulic reservoir has the correct amount of fluid. Any ideas? Thanks

Sounds like the common problem of having a 50A breaker that needs to be upgraded to an 80A

The resettable breaker in between the hyd pump motor dual polarity solenoid needs to be replaced with an 80 amp as stated in above response.

Also since this is a 2005 I’d remove all connections ... one at a time on the dual polarity solenoid and clean and reinstall..

Next I’d look at the gear packs for the main slides... clean these and lubricate the bushings in the gear cog with synthetic oil. Lightly spray a coating of dry graphite on the guide teeth track and gears as well

You should notice a much quicker and smooth sequence when closing and opening after doing this..

I am unable to find the resettable breaker or the solenoid. I have looked in all of the compartments. Do you have a photo of what it looks like or where it is located? Attached is a photo of the motor. Thanks.

That black plastic device on top off the motor is the reversing solenoid and the breaker is likely what is in the photos below. The black breaker is the 80 amp breaker I replaced the smaller with. In the last photo, the larger breaker is what goes to our pump and the inside electric panel. The existing small breaker has the red cover and is what was also where the large breaker is now.

" The existing small breaker has the red cover and is what was also where the large breaker is now." Somewhat confused. Is the red cover still a 50 amp and still being used? I see the 80 amp, but it looks like it is connected to the red cover 50 amp. I thought the 50 amp would be replaced. Thanks.

The 50 amp breaker that served the pump and the inside electric panel was replaced with the 80 amp breaker that you see in the photo. On our rig, there is also a second 50 amp breaker that feeds small loads, such as the propane detector and several others. That breaker was fine and is still working, so there was no need to replace it. The battery feed is the one coming up to the small breaker from the lower right, then off that same line side terminal of the 50 amp breaker is the short wire that goes over to the 80 amp breaker. You can see two wires coming off the load side of the 80 amp breaker, one going to the pump motor reversing switch and the other which goes to the inside electric panel. The original 50 amp breaker that was where the 80 amp breaker is now was exactly the same as the one with the red insulating cover.

The RV builders of Montana’s, Alpines, etc... Keystone need to trash the pile of junk 50 amp resettable breakers they are installing at the factory when building the units and install a quality 80 amp breaker... just like Lippert states in their after market six point level up install..

The hyd slide outs use the exact same DC power source to dual polarity solenoid that provides power to hyd pump motor.

I installed the 80 amp yesterday. I gather from the comments that the 80 amp may be overkill. The slides now work great, which is what I hoped for! Again thanks for your help.

I experienced same problem on my 03 3295RK with three slides. Thinking I had hydraulic pump motor, I replaced and still had problem. I discovered it was undersized breaker tripping with the large slide movement.
