Onboard battery charger
On board battery doesn’t appear to be charging from shore power! Without 12V am pretty much dead in the water. Help!!!

There is a breaker usually labeled converter, that is for charging. Also, there are fuses on the converter itself you can check. Year, make and model of your unit would help other then these basic things to check. In a pinch, hooking cord up to tow vehicle with engine running will usually charge your rv batterry.

Checked fuses on main fuse panel. All ok. Will check converter tomorrow. Keystone Fuzion 2012 year, model 404. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!!!

The row of fuses are all for power coming from the converter or battery. Depending on your style of distribution panel, there will be 2 40A fuses off to the left. If you have a stand alone converter there will be 2 fuses on the back of that. You may have to open the front wall of the basement to access the converter.

Make sure the 120 volt breaker in your trailer's panel that feeds the converter is on and has not tripped. Also, if you have a battery disconnect switch, it must be ON, which is where the red key can not be removed.

If you have a simple multi meter you can troubleshoot this issue and find out what’s wrong very quickly... a multi meter is easy to use and something all folks with RVs should have a know how to use... there are many folks on this site that can walk you thru this... so have you isolated the 12 volt power issue?

Not yet. Thinking either power to converter or the converter Itself. Took panels in basement off, got multimeter, turned on, and................no display. Ok batteries. New batteries and .............still no display. To Lowe’s I went. By time back home, dark, so tonight!!!

Well, I will be buying a new converter. The old one is no good. Had shore power and apu running and converter voltage followed battery voltage down to 8VDC before I finally decided that it is converter. Thanks for all advise and suggestions.
