New Guy from Alabama
I retired recently and will pick up my TT this weekend. Been lurking around for weeks gathering info from the forum. Never pulled anything longer than a small boat so there's some trepidation about pulling the new trailer. Planning to take it easy with a few short trips, see how it goes, then head out west.
I've been inspecting and repairing the TV for weeks to get it ready. Been through everything on it and it's like a new truck. (I'm the handyman type and can fix most anything, given the resources).
Hopefully with my cautious approach and you fine folks' help I can make a smooth transition into the RV world.
Good to be here!

How exciting! Welcome from Georgia! What camper are you getting, and what is your tow vehicle?

Welcome to the forum, spent the last three winters in Alabama. Two just north of Troy and this past in Summerdale. Really like the state and the people.

Your signature is now showing up. That's a big camper! You have a great truck to pull it.
We live just south of Atlanta. We love the N. GA mountains, too. Vogel SP and Unicoi SP are nice campgrounds up there.

Welcome to the forum! There are lots of great folks here with lots of experience and info. Don't let the length of the trailer worry you; length presents some problems but practice, practice, practice especially on turns to see where that tail goes and where your tires track - you need to swing wide.

I plan on practicing locally before we go into the unknown. My driveway is going to be my first challenge. 20' street with 10' driveway backing in. I figure if I can master that I'll be okay.

Welcome from NH!
DH and I spend our winters in southern AL and this last winter was the first towing our "new to us" Passport 290bh. Looking forward to checking out your part of the state in the near future.
