City Water Connection Fills Fresh Tank

I've had this happen on both of our camping trips so far.

I have a 2011 Passport 290BH. On our two trips, we hooked up the city water only to awaken in the am to the fresh water tank leaking on the outside of the camper.

Apparently, the city water hookup (with regulator and filter) is somehow bypassing the check valve on the water pump and filling up the fresh water tank.

In both cases, I disconnected the city water, turned on the water pump and ran the tap until the water tank was on 1/3.

I turned off the pump, re-connected the city water and the tank never received any more water from the city hook up.

Is there something wrong with my rig or set-up?

How's 'bout a wee bit of history.....

Were these the FIRST 2 times you have used the trailer?

If not could be one thing ....If so maybe something else.....

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. had to take delivery of my (New to me),
'08 Cougar. Then it's Movin', movin', movin' ...

Sounds like you may have a bad internal check valve in your pump. Is it still under warrenty? If so, I'd be talking to the dealer to see about a replacement.
If not then I'd talk to the maintenance folks to see howto and what is involved in replaceing it or repairing it. And then see which is the most cost effective for you.
My 2 pennies worth...

We have a 30RLS Keystone cougar that is doing the same thing!! It's so frustrating to only be 2 years old. We can't figure it out. I know this is an old thread but could you tell me how you fixed the problem?
