Put away for winter

Sad day put cover on trailer for the winter. So my camping season is over. Looking forward to next year.

We are camping but next week will winterized as we are done. No cover but we will park it and call it a season. Not many places open and it has been getting down to freezing now and again. It will be sad to do it though.

I know how you feel. We haven't been out all year due to just being to busy at work and such. However, we are going to the Oregon coast for Christmas for a week.

I held out as long as I could here in Montana, blew out the lines and ran the pink stuff through it last weekend after I brought it home from a fishing trip. However just because I winterized doesn't mean I can't use it again If the temps are decent and there isn't snow and ice on the roads, I am holding out hope I might get 1 or 2 more trips out to a lake!

Emptied the trailer and drained the lines. Hopefully tomorrow we will pump the pink stuff in and back her back to her spot for the winter.

I'm replacing my awning motor, washing and prepping for a weekend trip next weekend. Thank goodness for 12 month camping seasons.

Planning on camping on the beach Thanksgiving, Lake Huron beach in the Thumb. Could go either way. Will be full of propane and will have power.

Supposed to be a warm winter but it's still winter.

Put her to bed last weekend, but Pink Lemonade is cheap enough at Wally-world that if we get a heat wave... we can always re-winterize.

p.s. Tractor Supply Co. $3.50 a jug right now!

We are doing a weekend camp, next weekend and I hope to do many more throughout the "winter", such as it is here.

My friend has a couple of thousand acre ranch, in OK and he put in 5 full hook-ups (one 50 Amp), plan on spending as many weekends there as possible.

We've winterized after a really great camping season. Went down to 14 last night. Last winter was so mild that we went out a few times in February and March. I think we un-winterized and re-winterized about three times. Hope that's the case again this year. It's at least worth dreaming about.

Could be pulling mine out again this weekend, even though I ran the pink stuff through her... Snow today and tomorrow and a slight warm up over the weekend!

At what temps do you need to put antifreeze in the lines? I'm thinking about blowing the lines, but not putting any antifreeze in them. It rarely gets below freezing for more than a day or two (in Austin, TX). Typical lows are mid 40s.

We live in Waco and the only time I've ever pumped anifreeze into the lines was when a blue norther blew in unexpectedly and caught me without a working portable compressor. I just didn't have time to go buy one and blow out the lines.

I always pour antifreeze in all the traps and toilet bowl.

As a note, be sure to blow out ALL the lines including the toilet, washer, and black tank rinse if applicable. Drain the fresh water tank, water heater and low point drains. Also after you drain the fresh water tank, be sure and run the water pump for a couple of minutes to get the water out.

If you do all the stuff Javi said you'll be fine. I'd leave the plug out of the HW heater and low point drains. Might want put something over them to keep bugs out though.

Mikell - the thumb is one of my favorite places to camp. Unfortunately since we got hit on Halloween we ended up winterizing so the TT can go into the shop. Enjoy your trip to the thumb. Happy Thanksgiving.

Here's mine all winterized and looking lonely. Returned from the last trip of the year today, blew out the lines, drained the tanks, pink stuff in the traps and we're all set.
