2010 Fuzion 405 remote

I have a new to me Fuzion 405 and the remote is not working. Does a light come on, on the remote when its turned on? Mine does not and I think it may have a dead battery. Has anyone ever replaced the battery in the remote? I tried to open the case and got half of it opened, but didn't want to force it to much and couldn't get it all the way opened to check the battery.

What kind of remote is it? It sounds like a dead battery.

I watched a youtube video on the trailer and when they turned on the remote a light on the remote would come on. The light on mine doesn't come on so yes the battery most be dead. I guess I will try to get it apart so I can see if I can change the battery. If not I will look into buying a new one, since I think I will use it a lot especially when hooking and unhooking the rig.

yes there is a light when you press a button. I ended up ripping it all out of mine, the "brain" in the basement went nuts and it is several hundred to replace.

Smile remote

There is a small screw on the remote. You can't see it if the remote still has the stickers on the back side. It's directly in the center of the remote a small phillips head screw.

Easy way to see if a remote is working (any infra red remote) is to use your cell phone camera and act like you are taking a picture of the LED on the end of the remote. If the IR LED flashes in your camera, its working properly.

Finally got the remote apart. They put a label on the back, that was after putting a screw in the center of the case which was covered up by the label.
Found a battery the diameter of a AA battery and about half the length and it is 12 volt. Time to go to the battery store.
