Fleetwood Prowler Electrical Problem

I have a 2001 Fleetwood Prowler 5th wheel. Unfortunately, haven't used for several years and have spent the last few days going through everything cleaning and testing so we can again enjoy travelling. Everything was fine, worked great. I guess using the word "was" is past tense. I am having an electrical issue that has me stymied. I have 110v to the trailer, all the electrical plugs work, GFCI not tripped. I have no power to the major appliances, A/C, fridge or WFCO. I checked the breakers and power to each, checked the neutral bar for loose connections as well. Any thoughts or recommendations. Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

If everything did work and how has stopped, I would first look every where for another GFI that is tripped, under cabnets, every where even outside. Second check battery area for tripped fuse, broken wires etc. proper connections. Last check converter fuse and if it is working etc. My bet is #1 will fix the problem. I do not know that trailer at all but, it may have 2 or 3 GFIs.

This may sound silly but after I was cheking mine off some time ago everything went OFF. It turned out, after looking all over, that the breaker at the house tripped. Apparantly guage and extention cord and length mattered. Lived and learned.

Fleetwood Prowler Electrical Problem

This is where I get stymied, the WFCO is mounted under the sink, the 110V outlet is mounted just inside the cabinet, I have power to the outlet, inverter/charger not working, 40 amp fuse not blown. Since the charger/inverter is not working the battery is dead since there is a constant draw from the LP leak monitor. Same for fridge, I opened the access panel on the exterior side of the unit, unplugged the pigtail from the fridge and verified power to 110v outlet dedicated for fridge. I did not climb on the roof to open the canopy for the A/C, but this does not work as well. I have power, 3 key componets on different circuits not working.

Ken and Kellydog98, thanks for your help

It sounds like you may have a functional electrical connection "AT" the input to the main breaker and possibly a "DISCONNECT" at the output of the main breaker. I'd suggest you unplug your RV, take the faceplate off the electrical distribution panel, remove each circuit breaker and look to see if there are any issues with the connections at the bus bar. If those connections are good, then look carefully at the circuit breakers. It seems "impossible" that they could all fail at the same time, but a strong spike in the AC input could have burned them all. (think lightening strike, etc) The "switches" on the circuit breakers would still operate, but the "insides" wouldn't function.

If the breakers are all operational and functioning, then trace the circuits from the breaker connection through the Romex to each appliance. It could be as simple as a loose neutral (white wire) at or near the breaker box bus bar.

Good Luck

Sounds like you need a new converter since you have 120v AC to the converter but no DC coming out. There may be some reverse polarity fuses on the converter itself. Check those but if they're good I think the converter is kaput.

On my current and previous trailer the air conditioner doesn't work without DC even though it runs off of AC.

I don't know about the fridge. You'd think it would work off of AC with no DC power but maybe not.

I checked the neutral connections for a second time and removed and checked the breakers and reinstalled them. I tested the fridge with an extension cord, which worked. All of a sudden everything started working, so I am again at a complete loss how or why these events occured. Guess it doesn't matter sincer we are loading up and heading to a cooler climate.

I again wanted to thank everyone for their responses and support.

Refers need 12VDC for the control board to work. Some thermostats need 12VDC to operate.
