No water at water heater pressure port
Hi guys,
If I hook up city water line, water is flowing fine in kitchen and bathroom for both sides (hot and cold) The issue is that there is no water at water heater port at back of RV where you light the fire (propane), as I understand that I should not light it unless I can confirm that there is water in hot water tank.
Is there any water valve that I need to turn on? I tried to look for it under the RV and inside but no luck
See photo click here
Thank you in advance for your advice.

Sounds like your hot water bypass valve is turned on. You must find the valve, located in front of the hot water heater and turn the handle to direct the water into the tank. Good luck

Once you find the valve and turn it, turn the water pump on or city water and listen and the tank and you should be able to hear it filling. If you removed the water heater drain, water will come out. Make sure you have the water heater full before turning it on. Sorry I did not look at your photo, you are showing the over pressure valve, if opened you will here water filling but, close it to fill it. The drain is behind the bent pipe lower part of photo. Remove that to clean and check out the tank. Sounds like new to you trialer I woulld take that drain off and run water thru it first before any useing it.

Some bypasses might have more than 1 knob to turn.

Thank you for reply but my question is that where can I find that bypass value? it is not inside the bathroom, nor under the sink, I cannot see it under the RV either....

It will be at the back of the water heater. Once you know where the heater is, go inside and you may have to remove an access panel.

Incase you didn't know it, The picture you posted is of the water heater Presure Relief Valve.
Has nothing to do with water bypass. Look under your kitchen sink or behind your heater for a valve to open..

Without adding much more, you got good advice so far. The water heater is where the photo you took. Find the other side of it inside the trailer whats where the water fill line is and that bypass valve. Like other said, normally under sink and behind a panel that can be removed. Look for screws that show marks have been used, you need to get to that valve every year when winterizating. When I winterize I leave that panel off just to save time. in the spring.

The pressure relief valve in your picture is what I use to be sure the tank is full before turning it on. If you get water out of there then you are good. My trailer, you need a square head screwdriver to open the panel, good luck.

Most newer water heaters have a single valve for bypass. With a '99 you may have two valves as shown in this photo. All valves are 1/4 turn and you should be in business. This is what you are looking for on the inside of your trailer. The access for mine is by removing a drawer .... there is access, the trick is to find it. Good luck, Hank
