First time out with our 2014 2510rb

The DW and I took delivery of our new TT last week. We were able to get out to a favorite state park for one night. It was awesome. This is our first travel trailer; we traded up from a pup. That was our first camper. We both know that we are going to get spoiled quickly.

I do have one question for some of you experienced campers. When we bring the slide in do we want to keep tension on the cables that are visible on top the slide? I am able to run the move to the point that the cables go pretty slack. I don't remember noticing that during the PDI. I asked one of the techs at the dealer but I don't think he understood the question over the phone. Thanks in advance.

Gooood morning, I too switched from a pup. As your putting the slide in run it in until stops then I always give it just another quick push just to be sure. The cables on top will be fine. If I get the cable system right it is always tight on one side of the motor or the other. So your slide will not be coming out on you as your going down the road. Happy trails.

Good that you are enjoying it. I never look at the cables but run the slide in and leave it when it stops. I would guess that the cables are tight at that point.

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking it shouldn't matter. Again, thanks.
