therink, Howdy;

Only a suggestion .....
But, as you have it out it would be a great time
to see if a Valterra would fit. If not then you could let us know and take
the Valterra back for a refund.

Too late. I ordered the Bristol. As much as I would like to be the guinea pig, I only want to crawl under the rig once. Black tank valves are not my favorite pastime.

Can't blame ya for that. I still have to get in and replace mine to fix the darn cable and would i love to be able to swap out with valterra HW.

I like the design of the Valtera better than the Bristol.
I replace two of my Bristol valves with Bristols because I did not want to change cables too. The cable brackets are not interchangeable between the two. I also am not sure about the flanges, it would be good to know. I suspect that you could use ether one but would not bet on it.

Thankfully my black and gray tank valves are getting replaced under the Good Sam ESP with Valtera Valves.

How's about asking the tech's when you go to pick it up if the 2
different makes Bristol & Valterra are interchangeable. If not,
what the differences are to do not allow a swap?
Could/would be a big help to a few fellow RVers...

Thanks for your consideration

You bet I will. He wasn't familiar with Bristol at all so I emailed him some of the links and info I got off of here and asked him if he could help check the fitment between the two when he has it apart. Not sure if he will be able to fully check the seal between them but I will get as much info as I can get.

The tech/business owner that worked on my 5er said that the Valtera valves fitted right up without any issue.

When he and i first met he hadn't heard of bristol before. I explained the concerns folks on here conveyed to me when i first started looking in to this.

He told me that he did research the matter and in the end the valves mated up very well to the flanges and works like a charm.

The tech is a seasoned RV owner and has worked in the industry for over 17 years. They are an approved Good Sam repair shop along with a few other warranty companies. God Sam even came out to verify his diag before authorizing the work and the parts. In fact he got them to authorize the replacement of the other valve since he was already in there.

While he had te camper we had him replace our roof as well but will save that for another thread.

Good info to have, thanks! I replaced mine with the bristols but I'm not real happy with how they work. They're action is a little sticky.
