steamfitter78, Howdy;

That's a good example of why MEN should attempt to multi-task...
Like when Dad took ya out to the garage and had one of them talks with ya.
He probably explained that MEN were supposed to do one thing at a time,
do it well, finish it then, and only then move on to the next item on the
'Ta-do' list...
The same day Mom was in the kitchen with your sis explainin' to her that WOMEN
can get the do-thingy over here started, then while that's heating up, start sorting
the next load of laundry, load it add the soap, and other household chemicals, then
go back to the do-thingy, put the roast in it, set the timer, then start the vacuuming......

Men were 'programmed' from early childhood to be single minded of purpose
while at the same time girls were raised to be the multi-taskers.

So, next time ya need to dump the RV, just stand there till it's over with, you'll
feel better and the RV won't be such a mess....

All ment in good humor...

Steamfitter never said what color socks he wears with his shorts so we don't know if it was a "senior moment" or not

(of course after trying to get back to the trailer after that flood, I'm sure they're not white) LOL

So how long do you run the flush because when I do it the dump valve is open! Is that correct?

Leave the valve open. How long do you run the flush? About 2 or 3 beers long.

once i dump it i close the valve, fill for 5 or 10 minutes, then dump it again. But as a wise man said, do not walk off and leave it.

Depends on how long it takes to flush all the crud out..... Should you feel like
'multi-tasking' by all means leave the valve OPEN, If you are going to stick
around for the whole routine, then you could close the valve (as mentioned),
wait a few minutes then open it to wash-out the tank.
Your option, your choise, your 'wait time will vary...
I purchased a 5" clear section of pipe at the local RV store so I can see when
the water runs clear.

My Method

I look at black tank flushing as a "Team Sport". Whenever I'm adding water to the tank via the flush port with the drain valve CLOSED, my wife is watching the tank level monitor inside.

I use the flush port to add water whenever the tank is less than "Full" according to the monitor. (I know that a "Full" reading means the tank is really only 3/4 full. My tank error may not be the same as yours.) Then I turn off the water to the flush port, open the dump valve, and monitor the flow via the clear plastic adapter on the dump port.

After the flow stops, I turn on the water to the flush port for at least 5 minutes. I again monitor the flow, and if it looks like I have a clean tank, I am done. If stuff is still coming out after 5 minutes, I repeat the process. (I rarely have to do a repeat of the process.)

Conversion

Barney -
The rate of conversion depends upon how much rum you add to the coke; and, you should know by now that your DW is ALWAYS RIGHT!

Montana Black tank flush

2007 Montana 3400RL. After I open black tank valve and turn on the water NOTHING happens. I never get water out of the sewer line and can not hear water running anywhere.

This was supposed to be repaired at dealer but next time I tried to use it still would not work. Tired of working with any dealers. I'll figure it out myself and/or get help from other owners like yourselves?

You need to hook the hose up to the inlet labeled "Sewer Flusher"---not the one labeled "City Water Connection". Or maybe they both are mislabeled?
