brunt hole

I have a 2003 Cougar 276 EFS 5th wheel abd have a electrical question . I noticed a small burnt hole under the front part of the trailer yesturday . It was not there a week ago when i washed it . After a little investagating i found a black and white wire with the coating burned off right above the hole . My question is i dont know what these wires go to . I cant get far enough in to see where they run anyone know what they might operate? Thanks Curt

Welcome to the Keystone Forum. You mention that you have burned wires. A question for you. Is it a black and white wire or are there two wires, one black and one white?

Again, welcome

Could you provide a photo or a specific location? "under the front", especially on a 5er, covers a lot of area.

On the trailer in the front right side there is a door to get to one of the propane tanks it is coming from there and going under the part that the bedroom is.

Are you the original owner. That does not look like a factory wire run ... especially in a propane compartment. I would suspect an unfused light or accessory added near that location inside the trailer. Factory wiring is usually fused. JM2˘, Hank

That looks like a 12VDC line for a marker light.

hey Curt, in the photo the wire appears to be a 2 conductor paired wire, black would be positive (hot) and white negative (ground). perhaps landing gear power ?

Hey all i want to thank you for your responce. I think this wire is for a 12 volt light by the front storage door under the bedroom space outside . Tried it today and it would not come on . Replaced the bulb and still nothing and it worked a couple of weeks ago . Evrything else works . So im going to start there first Thanks again.

Just got it back from Repair shop . Had them fix the wire to .Turns out it was for the outside light under the front bedroom area by storage box . Mouse chewed the wire in to.
