Sanitizing fresh water tanks

Hopefully my attachment went well. I just wanted to show a device that i made that will allow you to get disinfectant [ bleach ] into your fresh water tank for the new trailers that no longer offer gravity fill. The device is a 1/2" Venturi Fertilizer Mixer Injector that I got off of Amazon for less than ten bucks, along with some hose fittings that you can get anywhere. It allows you to pull bleach form a container as you fill the. fresh water tank. I will let it set in the tank for a couple of hours, then run each faucet just enough to pull the treated water into all of the lines and give some more retention time, then flush. I do this at the beginning of each season as I come out of winter lay up. I hope this is helpful as I have seen some posts where people have had questions.

When using the Venturi, do you know the proportion of bleach to water entering the tank? This looks like a very easy method. I'm thinking of other applications this could be used for too. I'm probably going to get one!

It shouldn’t matter, if you only pour in “x” ounces of bleach, to “x” gallons of water.

Nice venturi system!! I use hot tub chlorine granules... part of a teaspoon in the end of the hose and then connect to trailer and turn on... Simple and works great. Can also use the hot tub chlorine test strips to ensure if I dosed it enough. :-)
