Clear Coat

Does Keystone us Gel Coat or Clear Coat on fiberglass camper body's. I have a 2018 Bullet and the clear/gel coat is already gone on the front cap from the top almost half way down. If I compound and wax it will be shinny for about 2 months then fades and is dull again.

I believe 2018 was around the time when Keystone stopped using "fiberglass molded color" and started phasing in "automotive painted fiberglass caps"....

The old way included spraying the mold interior with a "release agent/gel coat" and then laying up the fiberglass, sort of like fiberglass showers and hot tubs are molded. The new way is to mold the fiberglass, then paint it with automotive finish products..

I'm not sure what was done with your front cap, but from your description, it sounds like the old "gel coat method".

Thanks I might try an automotive spray can of high temp clear in a small area and see if that will last, it works great on metal parts.

Did this work out ok? I'm considering doing this also.
