Check water heater

2016 Fuzion 420 Chrome. I keep getting a check water heater message in the control panel. I have it on propane it works fine then a few hours later I get that message and the hot water heater is shut off. Any suggestions on what to check would be great.

Do you have good batteries? Are you plugged in? Does anything else that uses propane work? Try to fill in some of the blanks to make it easier to give you the best help.

Odds are the water heater needs serviced. Clean burner and flue, use a manometer and check LPG pressure.

Original batteries? When you say "everything else" does that include the furnace?

Month old batteries, are they true deep cycle batteries
If there's CCA, CA, or MCA numbers listed on top of them they are NOT deep cycle, not designed for heavy drains like boondocking requires.
Your fridge & water heater requires a strong 12 volts the operate the control board whether operating on gas or electric.
Plus if running the furnace it will zap a weak battery rather quickly.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I was able to figure it out. It was the heating element. I replaced the element and I no longer get the message.
