We just returned from a cross country trip and encountered a lot of mountains including the Camp Verde moutain south of Flagstaff,AZ. The gas 6.0 performed very well with this trailer weight, but I would not want to tow anything heavier.

I tow the same trailer and it is right at the 12000lbs loaded with one bike in the back(scaled). My 3500 DRW handles it well and I could not imagine towing in a 30mph crosswind with a halfton. Every time I tow any distance it always seems to be in less than ideal conditions(to put it lightly) and reinforces the fact that it is well worth the inconveniences of DRW for the stability and stressfree bad weather pulling.
