you fill it up every 2-3 hours if you are removing the ice. if you don't and it recycles its not as much.

It really depends on how many people are using ice. I usually have a gallon of water with me and it lasts the weekend in most instances. That is with me and wife using it.

We use the ice maker for the ice chest. Two ice trays filled with bottled water in the freezer for consumption.

i bought a magic chef at neighbors garage sale for 10 bucks,plugged it in and it worked so i ran it 5 hours and got 3 lbs or so,wasnt real impressed and wife didnt like the noise

Ice maker
We have had ours for 4yrs now, works really well. We fill bags and put them in the freezer, only need to run it every few days. Once the unit get's going, it makes ice pretty quickly, during it's making cycle the water in the hopper gets super cold and the cycle time goes down. We see them in Walmart now very cheap. It's nice not worrying about having to go down and buy ice to put in the cooler at the beach and for the races.
