Talking OK Class the word of the day is Stabilization

Here’s the story, we got a beautiful 2011 2910 HB Passport last year and we love it. We moved from a Jayco Eagle 14SO One Huge POPUP we loved it as well. The problem we are running into is there seems to be a herd of elephants that move into the bunkroom at night. I put my two lovely teenage girls to bed and about an hour later it seems DW and I are bouncing across the bed and trust me were not getting frisky. So as the kids roll in the bunk room on their bunks it seems to be enough to make the camper bounce. I am sure we are not the only ones with this elephant problem what are some of you doing to rid your camper of this problem. We are using the 4 scissor Jacks and good old yellow chocks on the wheels.

Some members have added either the Steady Fast or the JT Strong Arm stabilizing system to their 5th wheels front landing jacks and also to the rear stabilizing jacks and have reported a significant improvement in the reduced movement inside the RV.

I know that some also place two bottle jacks under the frame and near the center of the trailer and that seems to help. Others use the Bal X-Chocks (available at CW) between the wheels and have had success with those.

These are three, additional stabilizers for you to consider but other than leaving the elephants at home, I can't think of any other helpful and practical suggestions.

Go to CW website and search stabilizers. They have a few different ones. We are using 2 things that are about 3 feet long with legs and a strap. It goes under the frame.

I have been trying to steady my Outback for over two years. I use the four corner stab jacks, added two on each side, in front of and behind the wheels, and use X-Chocks, and it still shakes. The only thing I haven't done is crawl under the frame and put bottle jacks in the middle and I refuse to do that. BTW, I can feel the shake in mine when one of the Yorkies trot across the room and also when DW taps her finger on her i-Pad. I give up.

The last TT we had, we had lots of stabilization problems. I found that BAL X-Chocks helps with forward and back movement. JT Strong arms or the like help with side to side wiggle movement. Jacks to the frame before and after the wheels help with bounce and slide-out supports help with side to side rocking.

But all that stuff is a PITA to set up. The shorter the stay, the less I would set up.

I've been looking at the BAL stabilizers myself. I have the XL-Chock and that really stopped the front to back but I'm in the same boat about the bounce. When our 2 daughters are in the bunk house we can tell everytime they move! We have kinda gotten use to it but I would love to know how to fix it or reduce it. I also have to agree with Road King on the fact that is just more to set-up and if we are just making a weekend run it might become more of a PITA factor than it is worth......

My TT is 32' long and of course I have experienced this as well. mine seemed to be worse at the rear living area which I am assuming is because the front has the added benefit of the tongue jack. I switched to the X-chocks which took care of the front to rear but I still had a lot of wobble at the rear where the door is located. I purchased a Wayne's stabilizer for less than $50 to try it out and it made a huge difference. After searching a little it looks like Valterra bought out the design. here is a link:

Cheaper here; http://www.americanrvcompany.com/Val...per-Trailer-RV

We put our monsters in cages at night and that cuts down on the bouncing......

I have x-chocks and have added one of these.

Besides it being cheaply made and the spring buttons breaking, once I switched to bolts I found it helps. I place it behind the step.

We have the same camper. I use lynx blocks to build up under the stabilizers so that they are not extended too far. I keep checking them to make sure they don't loosen up. It seems that the farther they are extended the less effective they are at reducing movement. As mentioned above Steady fast or JT Strong arm Would probably be the best bet to make it more solid feeling.

X2 on the Valterra in the rear, I think CW price is just over $32 if you're a Good Sam member.
I'm also going to swap out the cheap stock 5000# stabilizers for heavier 7500# ones before our next trip
