Compartment Door Latch

Anyone know the manufacturer of Cougars side compartment latches with the lock tumbler in the latch. I need to replace a broken one. Thanks Chino

Have you got a picture of the latch? By "lock tumbler" do you mean a key lock or a combination lock?

It's the standard key-lock tumbler in the plastic handle/latch on a compartment door. Mine have what looks to be 2 over-lapping "O"'s on each latch. I don't know how to post a picture. Chino

Your profile only lists your RV as a "244 RLSWE" without identifying the year or model. I think it's a Cougar, but in 2014, Keystone replaced the 751 type baggage door locks with Global slam locks. However, the front compartment and the propane door still have the "old style" locksets, so I'm not sure what kind of lock you're looking for. So without knowing what lock you're looking for, identifying the type of lock you need is, at best a guess.

Here are a couple of links that might get you headed in the right direction:

Good Luck with your search.

Thanks John. Slam Latch is the term I was looking for. The links you sent are close but not quite right. My rig is a 2014 244 RLSWE 1/2 ton series fifth wheel. Chino

You're welcome.

Here's one more "shot in the dark". Try this link, there are a couple of Global slam locks on page 4. One of them might be what you're looking for.

Trekwood is the 'unofficial/ official" salvage parts for Keystone dealer. If there's something that you can't find for most any Keystone, they are the place that probably has it.

I'd check for the lock on this site, then using the part numbers, etc, do a Google search to see if it's available somewhere else for a bit less money....

Here's the site, again, try page 4.

http://www.trekwood.com/categories/3...ocks-Latches/1

I'm still not sure if this is the kind of lock you're seeking, but I just found this one: http://www.rvlocksandmore.com/Global...6#.Uz2RCDbD-pp

On the Trekwood site it sells for $42 and on this site it's $9. Like I said, get the information from the Trekwood site, then see if it's cheaper somewhere else...... Hope this helps some....

Call Keystone's Customer No-Service with your VIN#. They will usually tell you who the manufacturer is of their components, but don't expect much more from them.

After a lot more digging it looks like the latch is sold by Lippert under the name "slam latch baggage door handle" Tumbler might have to come with the latch. Thanks all! Chino
