7 Pin ripped out of Junction box need help with rewiring

I have a 2018 Keystone Cougar 29RKS 1/2 ton, the 7 pin trailer light plugs into truck was caught in the tailgate and ripped out the junction box. I rewired and was able to get turn signals and brake lights to work but no running lights and no brakes, (very nerve racking driving 600 miles with no brakes on the 5th wheel. Can you someone help me?

Welcome to the forum. You drove 600 miles without trailer brakes? That's reckless to put it kindly. Did you replace the umbilical?

The above diagram shows the wiring for the actual plugs, but it sounds like yours ripped out of the box itself that's attached to the trailer. Don't loose heart! With those 7 wires you have only 5040 combinations! I'm sure you'll eventually get the right combination!

I'm not sure what kind of junction box you have. On mine, it's just a standard house-hold junction box used in electric wiring. Each wire of the umbilical cord is attached to the trailer wiring with a wire nut. Kind of cheesy, but it works. I don't have the trailer with me at the moment to get a photo of the color code (although mine is a Montana, they are all still Keystone products). All I can suggest is to match colors the cord with this chart:

Jump to This Page and down-load the color chart.

7 way umbilical cord wiring for RV is the same across all makes. In some applications the yellow(reverse) is not used. Also need to know the break away gets wired to the trailer battery at one end and the brake circuit at the other.

wiring swap

I swapped mine out because it was like other and basically an electric box with wire nuts . it was not waterproof and the connections were corroding causing all kinds of weird things flashing on the dash
This is what i put in and the only thing i watched out for was to make sure the trailer wiring matched up.
took my about an hours to do the job including the crimping of eyelets on the existing trailer wires. and i also added back up lights (single LED bar on the bumper)
