New MHC 295RL from NH
Hi all,
My wife Susie & I picked up our new MHC 295RL over Columbus Day weekend. Unfortunately, we are weekenders and the campgrounds up here are mostly closed. We’ve gotten our “Beach Buggy” ready for the long winter nap and are already looking forward to our first trip south in April. We look forward to dreaming, planning, and interacting on this forum over the long, cold winter.

welcome! i think i’d have to use heavy wood cribbing to put under the front jacks…id be afraid the wind will make it shimmy off the plastic blocks since it’s downhill…i’d also double check the wheel chocks.

A nice rig. We love ours. Surprising that yours has all the bells and whistles but no rear electric stabilizers? What I can see in the picture are manual jacks in the rear? Doesn't yours have Ground Control auto level? I thought that was standard equipment.

i may be wrong but you can just see the auto level jacks and snap pads behind the rear tire…i think those may be stand-alone frame auxiliary jacks that are portable

@foldbak @jasin! Yes, sirs. We have the electric leveling jacks aft of the rear wheel. I had the dealer install the scissor jacks as a backup so that the rear end doesn't shimmy around if someone sleeps on the pull out sofa.
I'm glad I did because I used them after I disconnected the batteries prior to putting the cover on. Those jacks locked the rear end down as my fat old self climbed the ladder then pulled the cover up with a rope.
Regarding the chocks- I decided this year to glue a piece of 1/2" rubber mat along the length of a 6' 2x8PT that I would set the wheels on. The chocks grip the rubber mat well.
Thanks again guys.

Sr. Oso I see you're in New Hampshire? I assume you winterized. It gets cold over there! The only good thing about California is I never have to winterize.

Congrats on the new rig, I bet this will be the longest winter ever while waiting for the first sign of spring! We are putting our camper to bed for the winter this weekend…….ironically it was 76° today!

Welcome from CT. Very nice rig, sadly we winterized our TT last weekend - really, really hard since temperature was in the 70's. Did you at least get a cover that has zippered sides so you can go in once and a while to visit?

It’s going to be a long winter. I will however use it to learn more about solar, batteries, and Starlink. It’s really weird that the first thing we did after picking up was to winterize it. Compared my bumper pull, it was very easy. I also decided to pull the batteries out and bring them home. I’ll put them on a maintainer later on.
We leave on our first trip of 2023 in mid-April; going to Cape Charles, VA for a week.

time will fly by..april will be here before you know it…if it’s stored outside i’d make regular checkups on the trailer to make sure you don’t have any water leaks or mice getting in….also a few members had thieves target while in storage

We drive by it pretty often. It sleeps in storage on our way to the grocery store.
@jasin1- my wife and I are going to Whitestone, VA for Thanksgiving. My sister and BIL have a home there. There is a nice campground (Gray's Point?) on the other side of the Rappahannack bridge from Whitestone to Topping on Rt. 3. We are going to check it out during our stay there.
