AC duct issue

I have poor air flow in my 2019 Passport 3351 30amp single 15,000 btu ac unit and just thought it was due to the size of the trailer. I just took off the ac cover and metal shroud and found out why I have poor air flow. The one outlet leading to the front of my trailer was not connected to the ac output and I put a plastic shim with foil tape to know hold it in place. The other side is my problem, it is recessed back four inches through the metal frame. Any thoughts on how to repair it. Please see the picture.
Thanks

Welcome to the forum

You can “build” the duct using aluminum tape. I’ve done it lots of times.

Hi Ryan, mine had a similar problem and I had to build a duct, as said above, with card board and aluminum tape.

You might add this as I found it to be beneficial:

Thanks for the help and suggestions. I forgot to mention that I did order an rv airflow kit and that is mainly how I found my issues.

Here is a link to modifying your AC plenum that does the same as the RV airflow only at a lot less cost.

Also you custom make it to the exact dimension of your ducting. Yours does not appear to be standard.

I did this modification and it made a big difference on cooling the bedroom in our 5th wheel.

Same here, when installing the RV Airflow kit I found the short duct work. Now my AC works well.

Exactly what I did to mine and boy what a difference it made. You should also check each register for proper connection the the main duct. Just pop the register grills off and make sure they are sealed properly.
Good Luck!

Good idea to pull off all the outlet vents and take a look at the ducting. RV mfg's do a poor job of connecting them. Many mfg's leave flaps of rooving rubber hanging in the vents, and sometimes there are large gaps in the duct forcing air into the ceiling and roof, when it does you no good.

Grand design installs the rv airflow at the factor doing that 10 minute up grade will improve minor imperfections In the plenum. I think some of the other Manufacturers have got on board .
