I winterized the fifth wheel, lubed the seals and wipers with Aerospace 303, and cleaned the water pump filter-(that you all suggested I install-thank you very much!) I am already planning trips for next season.

solar upgrade

my 30rls came with a solar kit but was not to my likings.
I added a 2000w inverter/charger with 2x 300ah lithium batteries.
I also added a dc to dc charger so I can charge up the batteries on the road.
I also back fed the a/c panel with the 110v out from the inverter to 1 side of the panel so it wont power the ac, fireplace and microwave.

Looking to add a few solar panels.

hello Bigbobia, yes a dc /dc charger is a unit that takes 12v from you tow vehicle when driving it it will charge the rv battery.

I hope that helps. You could also go on youtube and type in dc to dc charger

Is this just to give a higher voltage to your LiFePo batteries? Or a dedicated wired higher amperage charger than the tow vehicle trailer charge line produces?

yes exactly, the tow will send 12v 40amps from the battery to the dc /dc charger. The charger will send the amps to the lithium batteries. The 7port from the tow vehicle does send 12v from most tow vehicle but its very low ams, think of it as a maintainer.

I should of been more informative. The dc to dc charger that sends 12v to 12v securely. The truck gets 40amps from the alternator constantly. The dc/dc charger will monitor that and make sure it turns on when the truck is on, also its a 1 way direction. So my truck can't empty the rv batteries even if it tried. The victron dc/dc charger also comes with plenty of options and you can modify all the settings also with a blue tooth app so you can monitor it from you phone.

Nice! What does the connection look like from your TV to trailer? Large Anderson plug?

hello CampN, yes exactly, 1 large anderson plug in the pick up bed and the other I piggy backed it with the main 7pin cable from the rv.

I ordered a set of GoodYear Assurance tires to replace the OE Rainiers.
Farm and Fleet has buy 3 get 1 free.

I got the new tires mounted and got them back on the trailer before getting everything covered back up for the winter.
I was surprised at how much heavier the GoodYear Endurance tires are than the O.E. Rainiers.
Very glad I spent the money.

That being said, anyone interested in a Like New set of Rainiers? 😋

I thought the same thing when I replaced our Raniers with Sailun. Sailuns are much heavier and feel more stout. I think you'll be glad you made the switch.

Washed and partually waxed the bullet today

We left camp( Marianna Caverns SP)pretty early today and by the time we made it home the sun was finally coming out. I told the wife I wanted to get the trailer cleaned up. So after unloading our laundry and food I went back to the storage yard and gave her a pretty good scrub down and then put lucas speed wax on the fiberglass front end. I will finish up next weekend if weather cooperates, and if not we will do it the weekend of Christmas. We usually park this way it helps the tires from developing flat spots, and makes the suspension last longer

But how often do you have to replace the antenna and the A/C?

Out of the factory, one of our dinette drawers had an uneven face and repeatedly opened itself up on the road, slamming into the furnace louvers. Finally had the time to address this. Ended up moving the railings' "tail screw" way off center and much higher, but got the drawer face flat so that the latch catches completely. The entire dinette seat is visibly off square to begin with, but I don't dare try to "improve" it because the dinette table fits 100% properly in bed mode.

Getting the rig ready to drive to the local tech, who will be installing our new MaxxFan and slide skis, retensioning and leveling our slide room, doing the annual wheel service for 2023, and hopefully correcting our wonky furnace that every so often completely fails to start up.

We've now sold our trailer of the same model, but we also had the problem with that rear dinette drawer opening during travel. It would shake itself such that the screws would work themselves out. We just tied a hand towel around the handle so that when it pulled open during travel it wouldn't do any further damage to the furnace louvers.

We also had problems with our furnace. It turned out to be the sail switch, which was pretty easy to repair - but getting the furnace out of the cavity not so much. The wires were put in such that you could not pull the unit out of the cavity. The wires are just run up into the outside area that is the back of the fridge. We disconnected the wires at that point and pulled new wires down into the furnace area. We then put Molex-style plugs on the two ends of the 4 wires so the furnace could be easily unplugged and removed if needed in the future.
