Pulled the camper out of its shelter for what's probably the last trip of the season. Checked tire pressure as usual and decided to crawl under and check the spare as well. The valve was blocked by the carrier it rests on! So, remove the spare, change its position slightly, air it up and rehang the carrier.

Off in the AM for Bar Harbor!

Winterized and door to access heater bypass

First time winterizing my trailer myself. Only cost me $12 for the antifreeze. Was paying way too much for winterizing from a local camper dealership. Actually used air first then pumped in RV antifreeze. Was surprised how easy it was after watching Keystone How-to videos. Used 3 gallons total and will be taking the extra 2 gallons back to Walmart.
Also made a cut out to access my bypass valve much easier which is located in my storage area.
Totally cleaned out everything and taking it into storage tomorrow.

I was getting the trailer ready for our first trip of the season, actually de-winterizing it.

As I was running the kitchen faucet the spray button blew out of it and sent water everywhere.

I have always hated that faucet and have thought about replacing it, many times, so I went to Home depot and pick up a replacement for $99.

Looking at how the pex lines were laid out I decided I could do better there too.

I bought a couple of sharkbite 90s and a couple sharkbite 90 stops and added them.

The new faucet is install and the DW loves it.

I had a few things left over.

I should have done this, years ago.

Went to an RV show here recently. DW found the "trailer of her dreams". It would only cost me $30k plus my Cougar trade in. So I asked, "sweetheart, what would it take to make you happy if we just kept the Cougar"? "I'd really like to have those new steps that are on all the new campers." So I shelled out $300 and got the Solid Steps. Installed them yesterday (pretty easy really) and she loves them. I think I saved myself about $29,500.
Washed waxed and winterized. Putting the cover on this week (after golf). A little early but some family issues have put a damper on this season and ending early is part of the solution. Best to all who can keep on camping!

Winterized most of my tailer a few weeks ago, but finally finished this off with "mice deterrent", checked roof/seams, cover, removed batteries and positioned to be the first trailer out of storage in the spring.

Had to reset the zero point on the leveling system. PITA Drained all lines and switched bypass on hot water heater. Checked distilled water level in battery. Removed anode and flushed debris from tank. Will add antifreeze and put it in storage until December. Hoping to visit Florida and So Carolina again while Maine is in the deep freeze.

Forgot to mention - moved the control panel for the leveling system from inside the front compartment to the backside of the access door. Now when I open compartment the panel is both easy to access and easy to read. No longer have to bend over and stick my head into the compartment to see what's what.

Did a little driveway camping to check how long the battery’s will last with inverter running and furnace on…found the battery connections had some corrosion and the water in both 6 volt battery’s was a little low..cleaned and topped off now.

Tried out the solar suitcase to see if it would help the battery drain while all of the above was running.

Cleaned out the storage compartment and removed inflatable kayak and paddle boards and put my second tv in the storage for a upcoming off grid trip.

Reading your post, I remembered that I haven't seen those "red and green felt washers" that prevent corrosion on battery terminals in years. I started using the red NOCO anti-corrosion spray on all my battery terminals several years ago. One can (about 3 or 4 ounces) is still going strong and I can't remember the last time I had a corroded battery terminal.

While there's probably as many "techniques" as there are batteries, those two are the ones that seem to have worked best for me. YMMV

Washed, waxed and winterized.

Got home from our last trip of the year on Saturday.
Still need to unload the pantry and liquor cabinet, then get the cover on it. :-(

I put both the electric reel and water hose reel in my storage compartment on the drivers side. Next to my wet area. Everything fit great and after adding quick connect on the hose and the inlets in the wet area it’s going to work great. Everything will be quick and easy set up and take down.

Thanks. As handy as the power cable reel is I'm thinking about a reel for the water hose as well.
