Toilet seat/lid in 2010 Montana

My toilet seat/lid broke at the hinge on my 2010 Montana Mountaineer. Has anyone used a regular plastic toilet seat to replace one? RV ones are so expensive compared to house ones but not sure if they’ll fit the same. Thanks!

It’s not the RV model but the toilet brand and model that determines which toilet seat will fit.

It is a Dometic 210 Series, round lid/seat. The replacements I’m finding online are $100.00 plus and I don’t understand why they’re so expensive.

Any "standard home part" when tied to a marine or RV application automatically doubles or triples the price.....

I'd recommend you either carefully measure the distance between the mounting bolts, the width and length of the "seat part" and head to your local Lowe's or Home Depot "in search of your new throne"....

Or, you could just remove the old seat, take it with you and go on that same mission.....

The Dometic 210 toilets were replaced by the 300 series about 10 years ago, so not only will few forum members have one, but many won't ever have seen one.

I'd suspect that any replacement/repair parts will increase in asking price every year from now on.... Sort of like trying to find parts for my Thunderbird. What few are available after Ford stopped stocking them, automatically went up 300% overnight.

Hopefully, your local plumbing supply will have a similar part much cheaper than the prices you're seeing online and at camping/marine parts stores.

I replaced the seat with Lowe's or Home Depot seats. Never had a problem. I removed the seat from the toilet and traced it on a sheet of butcher block paper (actually, packing wrapping paper), cut it out, folded it up and put it in my pocket. I then went to Lowe's and simply held my template up to the existing seats hanging on the wall for display. I found the one that matched almost perfect. I checked the holes where it mounts to the toilet and they matched also.

A year later, we added the Bidet.
