01 montana main slide floor replacement.

I thought it might be good information for others on my experience of replacing a slide out floor. I just purchased a 01 Montana that has storm damage but this 12 foot slide floor was damaged long before the storm got it. Both ends are rotted out and the section under the table was replaced at some point. The patch was poorly performed, it was not spliced into the rest of the floor and was not attached to the end wall. With all of this walking on the slide floor was a somewhat interesting experience. As of right now I don't have any pictures to share but I plan on changing that. For now I will link the Youtube video that gave me insight on how to do this job. and part 2

Tonight I got the floor out and laying on the ground. Can any one tell me what the fabric that they wrap the subfloor with is? It got pretty torn up due to the less than spectacular repair done by some hack in the past. I've done several Google searches and all I get is awning information. If all else fails I just took a roll tarp off of a grain cart today and will use that.

There is a woven fabric made for the bottoms of slides. If you can wait until morning, I'll ask our parts guy for a source & P/N. We did a whole slide floor replacement a few months ago. Fun job, right?

The material is called DARCO. It's a woven polyethelene/polyester waterproof fabric. It's available from a number of sources online and from almost any RV dealership. It is also used to cover the bottom of most mobile homes, so you might find it locally at a mobile home dealership on bulk rolls.

Here are a couple of sources: http://www.all-rite.com/underbelly-material-p-407.html

Looks like I don't have to.
