Alpine upgrade to fold-out steps

I mounted the Morryde fold-out steps to our Alpine 3011RE. I had to make significant modifications to the door sill. There was a flange outside that housed the LED light strip. I removed the LED strip and cut the flange from the sill. I also had to remove the screen door and elongate the screw holes in the screen hinges.

I love the stability and step width. I've read online that some folks have had problems with accessing the inside while parked in storage lots due to the required outswing to fold the steps out.

It's probably too late to ask, but has anyone had any other problems with these type of steps? Such as stability on uneven ground?

Thanks in advance!Attachment 31506

Nice upgrade to your Alpine. Haven't done that one yet on our 2014 Alpine.. Are you gonna add a handrail also did you get the storage box that mounts in the space where the OEM fold up steps used to go into?

On uneven ground I’m sure you already know, you can extend one leg longer then the other. I’ve done that and it’s been solid as can be

Thanks Chuck. I didn't add a handrail, as the OEM foldout rail seems to be sufficient. I also didn't add the storage box. I may add the storage box later, but for now I'm not in need of additional storage space.

Well, I added a sticker to my level up door that reminds me to stow the steps before operating rams. The steps will tolerate you raising the trailer, lowering could cause some damage. The storage box now contains my dirty blocking and pads, keeps my pass thru a bit cleaner.
