Umbilical cord from trailer to truck

Great info, I have a 2014 keystone passport ultra lite grand touring 3220bh.
Found a large cut on my ambilocal cord from trailer to truck, what is the best cord for replacement, will it be wire coded for a easy swap out? also if its Amazon even better,

Welcome to the forum! You might want to start a new thread on this subject. It will make more sense in the long run because this thread was about a trailer brake wiring fault message .

Thanks, did the wire code from the trailer match the wires from the new cord and box?

As i recall there are two color codes in use, one for RVs and another type of trailer. This is info that I gleaned from other discussions, not direct knowledge. I say this to encourage you to search this forum (and others) for more detail. As i recall both versions were offered on amazon.

This shows the two color codes for a 7 pin connector. Mine is the one on the left. (NFPA 1192)

As a note... some of the Bargman look alike cords don't play well with others..
Keystone and other trailer manufacturers are famous for using the cheapest.. while the Big 3 truck makers almost always use Bargman female plugs on their trucks..

I'd highly recommend that you look at the plug on the truck and if it is OEM or says Bargman then buy a Bargman you'll thank yourself later..

Assuming that its just the exterior and If none of the individual wire insulation is damaged, I'd just wrap the cut in electrical tape and not worry about it.

At least 3 wire were compromised, don't trust it when towing.
