So I have a tripod but unsure I can even use it to determine if I notice a difference or not. I have the PullRite Superglide hitch has the capture plate. That plate has a bolt so the tripod would press against that nut versus flush against the plate, is that a problem?

I’m not sure it would work effectively..my tripod secures up around the pin flush to the plate….I think that gives it “some” stability..may not be good for the plate either but then again your not lifting the fifth wheel…just adding another stable point

It depends on your pin box, I had no problem with the capture plate that fit the pin box on our cougar but with the Alpine I had to get a different capture plate that has the bolt described to hold it in place on the pin. I tried to use the tripod by putting some spacers in the cup so that it did not go up against that bolt, kind of worked but when the tripod broke I didn't replace it.
