Refrigerator exhaust fan

Where is the best place to mount a exhaust fan for the refrigerator? Should it be mounted to the roof vent or the vent on the side of the trailer?

You DONT want to mount an exhaust fan to the lower vent as it will not let the fridge operate correctly. I have a fan mounted in the lower compartment facing upwards so the air is moving over the cooling unit and exiting the roof.

Okay. Thank you. Is it normal to have a wood block at the back of the fridge? I would think this would make it harder for the air to escape through the roof vent.

That block is there to force the air across the upper fins. If the air goes “around” the fins, the cooling unit isn’t operating efficiently.

According to the producer of the ARP Fridge Defend system, fans push a lot better than they pull. The ARP system mounts a fan at the bottom blowing upward.
