Keystone Service Campaign Advisory 21-406

I just today received a notice from Keystone dated 5/20/21, that certain 2020-2021 model Carbon, Cougar, Fuzion, Impact, and Raptor 5th Wheel and travel trailers may have a defect in the polycarbonate skylights used on the Alpha Flex and Alpha Ply roof systems may crack.

Owners are urged to set up and appointment with their dealers to have the unit inspected for possible repair. They state work must completed no later than 10/30/2021.

The letter was signed by Rick Deisler, V.P. Service Operations

Cheers,
Jim

Haven't gotten a letter. Can't find anything on the web. Did find an identical-looking campaign notice about skylights in 2019-2020 Fuzions which closed in October 2019 (sucks to own the 2020, I guess). From past performance on that one, I wouldn't procrastinate on repairs for this one.

Call Keystone Customer Service

I wanted to know if my 30RLS was impacted by this recall. I called Customer Relations and talked with e Keystone Rep. I provided my VIN and she said I was not affected by this service advisory. If you have any questions about your unit, recommend you call Customer Relations at 866-425-4269.

Update:
Reported my skylight recall to the selling dealer last summer after receipt of the letter. We used the TH all Summer and Fall. Took it back for replacement 12/7/20. Skylight is still on National Parts Backorder. Damned COVID.

Angry Skylight Recall

Received a call from the selling dealer this morning. The Service Writer asked if I would like to call Keystone to light a fire under somebody's a$$. I said sure give me the information. I called the Customer Service line, and the factory is closed due to inclement weather.
The dealer told me since Nov. 10, 2021, that one skylight assembly was lost by one of the popular carriers and they received three assemblies all the wrong size.
I completed the Customer Service "gripe form" online. We will see where that goes. I told them I was an Unhappy Camper. So much for the "new normal."

COSTCO still hasn't shipped the replacement for the "lost package" that UPS never picked up from their warehouse 3 weeks ago. An Amazon order was scheduled for delivery last Friday, it arrived today and an Amazon order scheduled for delivery yesterday reflects arrival in Maume, OH on Monday, and never left there, although 2 other packages left the same warehouse and were delivered on time yesterday...

No rhyme or reason why things are so fouled up, other than everyone must have quit their $15 "minimum wage jobs" and are now working at McD's. Today, when we went to the grocery store, the Help Wanted sign in front of McD's said, "Now Hiring all shifts, starting at $21 per hour, daily pay if preferred, no experience needed"... Who would work for UPS at $16 any more

It's unsustainable. We HAVE to bring things under control. You can't pay people $40-50k a year to do nothing and expect private businesses to match. Hopefully those that work also understand that we can't do that as a society with tax dollars if you ever want to have anything. It's a toilet, the lever has been pushed....we have to pull it up.

Just noted in another thread that the propane regulator "safety recall" announced by Keystone nearly three months ago on my rig is still waiting for the followup letter saying parts are in stock. Until then, I guess it's don't smoke 'em if you got 'em.

Life's just great... Fortunately we haven't experienced any issues with items ordered and shipped... Where we live is rural so most things I want I have to order online...

$15hr for help wanted even in our small rural town at all the fast food places here in town... Diesel fuel was $2.03 a year ago... its been hovering around $3.85 except at all the truck stops in our area and they are $4.45

Diesel oil has become a bit of an issue to find but I saw that coming late last year and bought 15 gallons plus spare filters... # gallons of Delo 400 was about $31 when I bought it ( 3 gal ) and will now cost twice that ... Our local walmart has no diesel oil

Keystone RV parts.... good luck with any warranty work right now... they can't get the parts I guess... plus their backlog id thru the roof

FedEx is the worst here. Drivers will sling a small package from 20' away and if it's heavy leave it at the foot of the driveway. It's so bad I have the supervisor's cell phone on speed dial. What I don’t get is pre Covid unemployment was low and resturant & retail struggled to keep help. Now, a huge number of those businesses are gone. Unemployment is still low but now it's even more difficult for the service industry to get help. Where are all these people working? Seems like the numbers don’t match up.

My daughter & grandkids, all seeking work, just moved to Tucson. Every window of every store or restaurant had/has now hiring signs up. BUT they are only hiring for 15-20 hours a week so they don't have to pay benefits, they do pay good hourly wages. So by doing this you need 2-3 jobs in order to make a living & still have no benefits or any kind of job security.

Amazon just announced they are raising the price of Amazon prime do to wage and transportation increases…people don’t realize that when you start paying higher wages for entry level jobs that the burden is just passed on to the consumers…the very people getting the higher wages and the rest of us.

Even McDonald’s raised their prices

The CEO’s and business owners are not going to cover the costs out of their own pocket..in two years everyone will be right back where they were as far as income vs bills

This is the vicious circle of inflation. It eats away at the value of the dollar so people demand higher wages. Higher wages cause higher prices. And it keeps going around.

The inflation has reduced the value of our money. Unfortunately one largest writers of homeowners insurance is raising the policy premiums by 20 percent to keep up with the cost of labor and material. The increase is not from more frequency in losses but higher cost.
