Seems the guys who really are devoted to the Mustang are a lot more influential than the Thunderbird or the Escort guys.... Seems "strange to me" that Ford stopped production of almost all their "car models" then introduced what they hope to be "the future" in the form of a car, not an SUV or crossover...

IMHO, that "electric Ford" is a far cry from anything Mustang was ever intended to be and nowhere close to anything it has evolved into....

Looks more like a "Ford" Kia Optima. More importantly...will it pull that trailer?

Certainly... if you put some heavy duty air bags on it and a weight distro hitch!

This has to be the best statement I’ve seen yet about Ferd’s new “mustang”. I still can’t believe how much they have insulted the name Mustang.

My neighbor has the Mach E ordered, it's already been 8 weeks & was told last week at least 8 more weeks.
I told him he should buy a Honda generator to haul in the frunk (front trunk) so when the battery goes dead he can fire up the genny, wait about 8 hours to get home..........maybe.

Those photos makes me wish I still was in the traffic division and could stop that type over dumb stuff.

This is not a weight police entry, nor one on using an EV as a TV. It's more of a braking question entry. In that link the OP (ohmman) states:

"It was my first time towing anything, other than behind my compact tractor, and while it definitely felt different, it was comfortable. I set my brake controller at a very low level so that I could recapture as much regen as possible. I was really astounded by how much the regen could slow down the trailer/Model X combo without trailer brakes engaging. This is an area for definite attention, as I think it has some potential for extending stop-and-go range."

Could this cause a sway issue during braking, and an issue with the trailer trying to get ahead of the car during a hard braking situation?

Absolutly. Think about entering a curve at highway speed and a situation calling for full braking was ahead. The last thing you want is for the trailer to push the tv, especially at an angle and with such disparity in weight between the two. Jacknifing would be a real possability.

About 10 days ago we were almost to our destination, OC, MD. On a two way road with a 50 mph speed limit. I was driving about 47 -48 mph. We rounded a curve to find a SUV stopped in the road with a 10 yr old or so girl standing between it and a mailbox. Car comming in apposing lane and no where to dive to the right as just beyond the mailbox were large trees. Thankfully the rig stopped in full control with enough room to not cause harm to anyone (other than my nerves). I couldn't image the outcome had the trailer brakes been backed off any.

Falcon, why would someone want their running boards to fold up automatically? Have their horn blast when they lock the truck doors? Grow their hair in a Mohawk? Dye their hair blue? Pay a hundred and some thousand dollars for an RV and drag it down I-65 through Alabama....I had to throw that one in. Catch a perfectly good fish and then throw it back? It's a 'look at me' sometimes, and a 'I want to protect the environment' other times.
You should have seen the look on the salesman's face when we told him "No sliding moonroof for our truck." He simply couldn't understand it. I also can't figure the electric push we're into, but I'm afraid we might as well step aside and let it come on through. Much to my dismay...

Maybe it will tow it but should you?

An F150 can tow a 747... but should you? And how durable will it remain?

Read an article yesterday that 1 in 5 EV owners in California have switched back to gas vehicles due to charging issues. If California is opting out of gas vehicles by 2025 how do plan to resolve this issue? Do they plan to completely drain Lake Mead to increase the power requirements for all the EVs?
The article states that with the original Mustang with a V8 you can refill the tank in 3 minutes & go for 300+/- miles, with the new Mach E Mustang plugged into household receptacle,120 volts, for 1 hour your good for 3 miles or 36 miles in 12 hours. Plugged into 220 volt outlet you can double the charge rate so a wapping 72 miles in 12 hours. If you pay $800 for their rapid charger, 480 volts, it'll fully charge in 8 hours & you're good for 280-300 miles, hopefully can make it back home to use the rapid charger before it's dead.
Why in the world would anyone want an electric automobile?
What are they saving? What do they think is used to power most electric power plants? It's not wind or solar.
