Slider Cable Repair Kit

Does anyone have a good source for a repair kit? Amazon has one Made in China that will take approximately two months to get here. Part number and source would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Boogi, take a sec and go to the UserCP and add a signature with your camper year, make and model as well as the same for your tow vehicle. It will give answers to your questions more context. Probably no one will know what type slide mechanism you have so a picture or description might help. A link to the Amazon product might give people a hint as well. I have a gear driven slide and can't imagine a "kit" for it but likely could purchase the bevel gears and motor from the manufacturer (just guessing on that).

If you are talking about the slide cable kit, look them up on Home Depot.

I’m a little surprised someone with no knowledge of the subject takes the time to comment. My Outback has one piston-driven slide and two that are cable driven. There are kits having watched an RV repair guy replace his cables using a replacement kit. He provided a part number but it ships in months rather than days.

I am assuming you are looking at the BAL replacement cable kit on Amazon;

https://www.amazon.com/BAL-22305-Cab...7745831&sr=8-2

If so, that is the BAL product who also makes the slide cable system. It shows 1-2 months. I've got 2 sets "just because" and it only took a week or 2 but that was the pre "covid induced wacky world" we live in now.

If you need one right away you may be relegated to contacting dealerships to try to locate one. My dealership usually has a quantity of them on hand.

What??
I'm surprised that someone asking for help does not appreciate that three people have given valid suggestions to help you find what you are looking for.
If you are expecting a factory rep from the slide company to reply and give you an overnight part option, well keep waiting.
And for the record, I have no knowledge of the subject either, but I do know how to thank folks for their help and guidance.

That's what I'm talking about!!! Especially since he didn't specify cable, hydraulic, or gear driven, that he needed a repair kit for. Guess you just have to read some people's minds, and help them even if they don't appreciate it.

Thanks. I found another on-line source and I’m waiting to see what the ship date is. Probably way out.

I will call around the area RV shop and dealerships.

Wired George - My sincere apologies. You reach out and I bite your head off.

Can’t take back the text so I’ll do better going forward.

Thanks. It never occurred to me Home Depot would stock a cable assembly. And I did look it up but unfortunately they’re back-ordered to some unknown date.

I would do like sourdough suggested and call a bunch of rv dealers. Someone might have one sitting on the shelf…Member Markcee just used one in another post last week. Do a search on the forum

All good Boogi_man.
Just as long as you get the help you need. These folks on here are some of the best you will find on any forum.
I do remember reading the thread Jasin referred to and there was mention of a special tool to connect the old cable to the new so to thread it through the pulley assembly's. Markce mentioned a "Chinese finger trap" sort of tool. I am not sure if it comes with the kit or you have to purchase at HF or elsewhere.
Just a small tip to make the job easier.

It sounds like a chapter in a dime store western paperback

No problems brother. I went out with the missus for a ride on our trike. After took her to my #3 kiddo's house and went home. Got in front of the house and the battery puked on me and had to pull the battery in the hot sun (getting close to 100F) and then go into San Antonio to buy a new one. A Goldwing battery cost me $150! I didn't have the greatest day either so know from whenst you come.

Walmart had them a couple of months back on line. Did you snap/fray one or just stocking up?
